Call for Abstracts Please send email to info@areadne.org to inquire about submitting a late abstract. Contributed abstracts for poster presentation at AREADNE 2012 are solicited, with submission deadline that was recently extended to 28 March 2012 (notifications will be sent by 18 April 2012; if you think you can not make the extended deadline, please contact us as soon as possible at info@areadne.org ). We encourage authors to concentrate on aspects of their work that are relevant to the conference mission, namely, the encoding and decoding of ensemble activity, or how multiple single neurons interact. Experimental, theoretical, and methods research are all encouraged. Abstracts will be judged based on relevance to the mission, scientific merit, and importance of results. Send us your best work! Abstracts should be written in English, and are required to fit on one US letter (8.5 x 11 inches) page with 1 inch margins on all sides in a single-spaced, single-column format. Use of templates provided below is required. Please do not adjust any formatting setting. Optional support, acknowledgments, and references sections should appear in the same font size as the main text, and must fit within the one-page limit. Figures may be included in the abstract, but must fit within the single page and within the margins. Figures should be created at the intended size (rather than scaled down). Figure labels and legends should be no smaller than 8 pt font. Figure captions should be brief, clear and describe the figures appropriately. Figures should not be scaled or cropped within a word processor, as this often creates compatibility issues. Figures should be rendered at 300 DPI when possible. Abstracts must be submitted in both PDF and either LaTeX, or DOC form. (Why both?) If you need to convert a file to PDF, Adobe has a free trial service at createpdf.adobe.com. Please note that we are being more restrictive about the format of submissions than for previous meetings. In particular, documents produced using Apple Computer's Pages software have had compatibility issues in the past, and so are discouraged for 2012; we strongly recommend using freely available LibreOffice software instead. Submissions should be sent via email to submissions@areadne.org, using AREADNE 2012 poster submission as the subject line. Attach the PDF file and the LaTeX or DOC file to a message that includes the corresponding author's name, affiliation, email address and phone number. Please submit at most one abstract per first author. For accepted posters, the first author will be expected to be the presenting author.
