AREADNE 2016 Research in Encoding And Decoding of Neural Ensembles Nomikos Conference Centre Santorini, Greece 22-26 June 2016 |
Historically, the AREADNE Conferences have not offered travel grants or scholarships. Instead, we work very hard to keep the student and post-doc registration fees as low as possible for everyone. When we do have funds available, details are given in the list below.
• | For students and post-docs in the UK, we will be able provide support for 2016 thanks to a generous grant from the Wellcome Trust. Please contact us by email for details. Awards will be made based on the excellence of submitted abstracts. The exact form of the award will be determined by the number of requests, but is anticipated to be at least a registration waiver. |
• | For students and post-docs in Greece, we will be able provide some support for 2016 thanks to a generous grant from the NIMA Founcation. Please contact us by email for details. Awards will be made based on the excellence of submitted abstracts, and will take the form of a registration waiver. |
• | For students and post-docs in the United States, we will be able provide support for 2016, thanks to a generous grant from the National Science Foundation. The exact amount will be determined by the number of requests, but is anticipated at USD 200 to 300 per person, and will take the form of a travel award provided after the conference. |
As always, the first place to check for travel support is the student's or post-doc's home institution which often has departmental funds to attend conferences. Additionally, scholarships and travel grants are at times available from institutions such as the ones listed below, some of which are specific to women or minorities. Note that many of these institutions do not have publicly announced travel grants, but that funds are sometimes available upon special application or request.
